There may be times when you need to migrate data from one instance of the Portfolio Tracker to another (e.g., when you update to a new version or if you decide to change color theme). When this is the case, please follow this simple checklist.
Open both instances of the Portfolio Tracker and place them side to side (the one you are migrating from and the one you are migrating to.)
Go to your first Account and select all the trades in the Trade Log, making sure to select all and only the data you have entered in the lighter cells. Hit ⌘ + C.
Go to the Trade Log of Account 1 in the new instance of the Tracker. Click on the cell A3 and hit Shift + ⌘ + V (Paste and Match Style). All your trades will appear and the Tracker will recompute everything. Make sure to select the right Account Type (Crypto or Stocks) in B1 of the account's Top Line Stats.
Do the same thing for the Snapshot table, each time making sure to select only the data you entered in the lighter cells and pasting this data using Shift + ⌘ + V (Paste and Match Style).
Follow the same procedure (steps 2 to 4) for each one of your active accounts.
If you had a secondary currency set, reset it in the new instance.
If you had a lot of data to migrate, you will want to make sure you have enough rows in the destination tables before pasting your data in. You may also have to add rows to the Holdings table and to the Portfolio Breakdown table for all your assets to show up there automatically. See how to add rows.
